Flipping Through Romance

The thunder shakes the ground,
And lightening takes pictures of the earth.
The umbrella was not found,
The dog seems to give a smirk.

The rain is playing the drums,
Not all in unison, but loudly.
You say it ruins our plans,
I say, let’s play monopoly.

The lights go out, no more TV.
I am happy to just look at you.
You get upset, nothing to see,
And I can’t wait for the rainbow.

I’m holding a warm cup of tea,
You’re flipping through bills to pay.
I’m thinking of you and me,
And how long more can I wait…
